Asher Puppy

5.18.12

Taking Asher puppy for a walk.

Asher loves wearing his backpack.  I'm sure he had it loaded up with something very important for his scooter ride.

 5.19.12

Picnic time at the park!

5.20.12

Swimming pool safety goggles on and ready to hammer away with a book.

Teagan enjoyed getting a hairdo from her friends.  One time she was playing and told me that she was going to the beauty salon.  When I asked her what you do at the beauty salon, she told me, "You get beautiful."  Of course.

5.21.12

We spend a lot of time at the chiropractor.  Teagan and Asher love to put pillows on the floor to create their own adjusting table and then give each other "stretches."

Puppies

5.14.12
Teagan and Asher both love to pretend that they are puppies.  They want me to put food and water in bowls on the floor and Teagan puppy wanted Asher to take her on a walk outside with the leash.  Eventually I convinced them to at least put the leash around their waists.

5.15.12

Bedtime snack!  They are like little mirrors of each other at times with their mannerisms and expressions.

5.16.12
Asher is always looking for his "double" so he can dig in the dirt.

5.17.12

Aunt Beth gave Teagan a kids cd player for her birthday.  She was having fun singing along with Lori Berkner.

Hanging out eating, wearing one boot, a t-shirt, bib, and hat while holding a fly swatter.  You can never be too prepared.

Ready for action

5.11.12

Asher sneaks out into the garage every chance he gets.  This is how I found him on Friday.  In the garage, in the wagon, wearing his helmet.  I guess he was ready for some off road wagon riding.

And while Asher is looking for trouble every chance he gets, Teagan on the other hand can often be found quietly coloring.  The difference between boys and girls....

5.12.12

We got the kids their first water guns.  They both knew exactly what to do with them!  Of course the coaching from their Dad, telling them to spray their Mom didn't help.

5.13.12

Anytime Asher sees Paul get out any tool, his eyes light up and he gets so excited!  He's always ready to lend a hand.

The best part about making cream cheese frosting is licking the beater!  I was planning to make a coconut cake today, but Teagan really wanted a carrot cake.  She had been telling me that it was Mother's Day so I could do whatever I wanted, but then she said suggested I could make the coconut cake for another Mother's Day.  Today she wanted carrot cake!

Fire Station Tour

5.7.12

The kiddos helped make orange sherbert, but the best part was eating out of the ice cream maker bowl.

A boy can never be too careful.   Asher loves to wear Teagan's bike helmet.  It's good to take extra precautions when playing in an overstuffed closet.

5.8.12

It was a beautiful day for a walk to the park and playing in the stream at Breckinridge Park.  Nice cool breeze and not hot at all.  Asher and Teagan love wading in the creek and watching the fish.

5.9.12

We got to tour our neighborhood fire station today.  Asher really enjoyed seeing the fire trucks.  Teagan liked climibing inside them, but of course refused any pictures.

Hanging outside, digging in the dirt.

5.10.12

"Look!  I dressed myself!"

The weather has been a little cool for swimming the last few days but the kids are still enjoying the water table and hose.  After dinner tonight we heated up the hot tub and went for a warmer swim.  Asher was quite the little fish and after jumping in the water, he came up with a big smile each time saying, "a bubble."

Spring days

5.4.12

We went to the Arboretum today to have the kids pictures taken.  They have a glass sculpture exhibit right now that Asher was really fascinated with.

5.5.12

Teagan's typical "no pictures!"  I think she's getting tired of the mama paparazzi constantly stalking her.

Asher picked up the hose from the Polaris while we were swimming and Paul and I had quite a laugh, and quite a few pictures, over the effect.

5.6.12

We had a nice relaxing family day today.  We went to Firewheel to let the kids play and we shopped a bit.  After that we went to lunch, home for a nap, and then played outside for awhile in the afternoon.  It's nice to have Paul home again on the weekends.

Daddy's home!

5.1.12
The kiddos were so excited to have their Daddy back home.  I let them stay up until he got home a little after 9pm and they enjoyed getting to read their bedtime stories with their dad.

 5.2.12

Asher was trying out the role of an Old Navy mannequin.  He loves going to Old Navy to visit the puppy dog.

Teagan had to bring her babies and double stroller to Firewheel.  She loves to push them around and let them play with her at the playground.  And of course they enjoyed the train ride with us.

5.3.12

I came into the play room this morning to find Teagan getting Asher all dressed up in some of her doll clothes.  She had put some bloomers and a onesie on him.  He actually quite liked the Mickey Mouse onesie and didn't want to take it off when it was time to get dressed.

Teagan was pretending to be a baby also, wearing a fleece diaper cover over her shorts.

Brunch

4.29.12

We had a lazy Sunday morning brunch.  Paul is gone on his fishing trip and the kids and I didn't have any plans for today.  So after they finally got out of bed around 9am, we decided to make a big brunch of waffles with strawberries, eggs, and butternut squash hash browns.  Teagan is on a waffle kick right now so it was time for me to make up another big batch to keep in the freezer.

4.30.12

Just a typical afternoon for us... playing outside!  I don't know what we will do when it starts getting really hot because these kiddos are getting used to spending pretty much all afternoon outside.

What a face!  But it was the only shot I got of her today.
Asher's legs are finally long enough to reach the pedals, but he doesn't quite have the pedaling down.  I pushed him all the way around the block on the tricycle.  Not very comfortable for my back!  His tricycle has a handle that you can get to make pushing much easier.  Definitely need to look into that!

Together

4.26.12
Working on a masterpiece together.

4.27.12
Striking a pose.  Asher has become quite the little baseball cap baby.  He loves wearing his hat.  He wears it around the house, when we go out, in the pool, and some days he is wearing it right up until I'm tucking him into bed.

Teagan planned and executed an elaborate birthday party for her dolls tonight.  She packed up everything she would need for the party and brought it all in to the kitchen.  She told me, "I brought wine, root beer, and healthy drinks.  Because you like healthy drinks, right?"

4.28.12

For some reason, the kids are really into eating on the couch at the coffee table.  Not exactly my preference.  A toddler, strawberries, and a cup of soup on the couch are a little nerve racking for me.  Teagan is of course saying, "Don't take my picture."

When I look through my pictures, I realize how many I take of Teagan and Asher together.  They really do play together so much.  Teagan told me this morning that she didn't want me to play with her, only Asher.  The only problem is that Asher doesn't take direction nearly as well as I do so Teagan gets really frustrated when he won't play the way she wants him to.

Queen Teagan

 4.24.12
The Queen is on her throne.

Asher likes to get in on the dress up fun too.

 4.25.12
"I know I can figure out how to open this gun case if I just think about it long enough..."

Bubble machine fun.

Scarborough Faire

 4.21.12
Teagan had a lot of fun planting the flower garden that her Aunt April sent for her birthday.  Of course Asher helped.

We'll see if we can make them grow...
 4.22.12
We made a spur of the moment decision to head to Scarborough Faire on Sunday.  The kids had a really good time.  Teagan was excited to use birthday money from her Great Grandma to buy a crown, a wand, and a purse to keep the money she still had leftover.  The kiddos had a lot of fun riding a pony and a llama, and Teagan enjoyed getting her face painted.  We mostly just walked around looking at things since the kids weren't very interested in any of the shows.

Asher got a wand also, and amazingly they haven't become swords yet.

 4.23.12
Teagan and Asher discovered some books on the iPad today that they could watch as it was read aloud.  They both camped out watching them for quite awhile.
