Having fun with Asher's new race track birthday present.

Asher and Teagan really like playing with gooey bags.  We just put paint in ziplocs and they like to smoosh it all around.  It's my attempt at mess-free painting with Asher.

Teagan loves to paint.  She's actually pretty independent with it.  However, if Teagan is painting, Asher definitely wants to join the fun and he needs very close supervision or things get pretty messy quite fast.

Sometimes I forget that they are capable of "helping" with things like folding laundry.  I dumped out a basket of towels and they both happily went to work "folding."

Teagan actually does a pretty good job!

Picnic lunch on the kitchen floor.  I have no idea why Asher is wearing a helmet.  Sometimes, it's just part of the fun :)

Asher's 2nd Birthday

After lots of pretend birthday parties put on by Teagan, the day of Asher's 2nd birthday finally arrived!
We started the day with some presents. As soon as he saw them, he knew exactly what to do!

Asher loves to watch lawn services workers and is always pretending sticks and brooms are
leaf blowers, so we got him a bubble leaf blower.

Teagan helped me make him a "Cars" pillow as a present from her.  He likes to lounge on it.

I debated a lot over what kind of cake to make for his party.  When it comes down to it though, he really only likes frosting, so I did a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting.  He liked the fire truck decorations and enjoyed eating the frosting off his cake.

We had a brithday party with all the grandparents, local aunts, uncles, and cousins on both the Miles and Knutson side of the family.

After opening presents, I think the truck and car population in our home increased exponentially.

These kiddos sure are lucky to have each other as play mates.  Teagan is usually the ring leader coming up with games and doing crazy things.  Asher is right there with her repeating a lot of what she says and imitating what she does. The problem comes when, as Teagan puts it, Asher doesn't follow her instructions.

The kids just love greek yogurt.  It makes the best  body paint!

 Teagan has been saving her money that she gets for her allowance.  When we were out at the craft store, she decided she was ready to make a purchase.  She chose some flower buttons that she used to make necklaces and glue onto a paper plate as an art project.

I'm not sure if they were playing chiropractor or something else, but Asher decided to use his tools to "fix" Teagan.

Teagan and Asher have so much fun at Paul's office.  I'm sure they think he must spend his days at work coloring with highlighters, playing with his adding machine, and stapling.


 

Teagan is at the age now where she works really hard at drawing actual "things".  While Asher was napping, she spent a lot of time drawing wedding cakes.

Asher is always close at hand to help with "daddy jobs."  He is going to learn so much about fixing things.

 

When Teagan colors in coloring books, she makes sure she colors every square inch of the picture.  She is very careful about staying in the lines.

Asher loved meeting his cousin Connor's new hamster.

Teagan is very skilled at caring for multiple babies.  It's no big deal.  Just strap one on your back, and one on your front.

Asher is at the age now where he really enjoys looking at books.  I love it when I notice him sitting quietly, just looking at a book all on his own.

Teagan has taken a new interest in her bath time baby, "Swimmy."  She lived out by the pool for quite awhile, but now she is back in the house getting regular baths by Teagan.



Asher really likes a new alphabet game we have on the iPad.  He is always asking for "ABC's iPad."

My baby boy is starting to look all grown up.  He is in a big naked phase and it is so difficult to convince him to get dressed for anything.

Asher can not be trusted with markers. He will be coloring so nicely and next thing I know, his arms are covered.

 Do kids ever get tired of playing with playdough?  Playdough cookies and cakes are a daily occurrence at our house.
