Teagan's 4th Birthday

After all the anticipation leading up to her birthday, Teagan had a really fun day and party.  She opened a few presents when she first got up and we made cinnamon rolls for breakfast.  She liked her Belle dress that I made her and put it on right away.
She had a lot of fun decorating her birthday crown.

She had chose this Belle cake months ago and never changed her mind about wanting me to make it for her birthday.  She kept opening the fridge all day to peek at her cake.

Even though Paul cooked a really amazing beef tenderloin, she decided that she didn't want to eat anything but cake!

Although the weather wasn't that great for swimming, we still decided to heat up the hot tub so Teagan could swim.

In the pool, again!

4.15.12

Another swim in her clothes. This kid is crazy. It was in the low 70's, and the pool water wasn't much warmer.

Asher stayed out the pool, but still managed to get plenty wet.

4.16.12

Asher has been deciding lately that he doesn't need to nap. Unfortunately, he DOES need to nap, so that makes the evenings difficult trying to cook dinner with a fussy baby. I was holding Asher in the sling nursing him while I was cooking, and noticed he was trying to fall asleep. A 5pm nap is a bad idea! The best thing I could think of to distract him was a lollipop. I'm sure he is going to remember this tomorrow when I'm trying to cook.

Styling

4.12.12

Teagan was styling Asher's hair with a toothbrush while he munched on a plastic chicken leg. Fun times.

4.13.12

Asher loves to use his tools. This kitchen set needed some serious drilling. Especially after all the hammering he had already done.

Playing ball outside.

4.14.12

Sometimes when you are playing outside, you just can't help but go for a little swim. It was 78 degrees outside, and about the same temperature in the pool, but the water sure felt cooler.

Asher decided to take a little dip also!

Parks

4.10.12

We've been enjoying the beautiful 80 degree weather with lots of park time with friends this week. We went to Bentwood park on Tuesday and the kiddos really enjoyed feeding the ducks. There were some really cute little ducklings.

A big Crane came very close to us and we watched it catch a fish in the pond. That was really neat to see.

4.11.12

On Wednesday we went to a nice shady park with a friend. Of course we spent a little time on the bridge walkway "duck watching." Asher is so cute how he says "quack, quack" when we see ducks.

Easter

4.7.12

Always taking care of her babies :)

"I'll catch you Asher!"

4.8.12

Easter basket time. Yes, Teagan is wearing the same clothes as the day before. Because she slept in them, and hadn't bothered to get new clothes on for the day. That's common around here!

Asher loved the toy drill in his Easter basket.

We headed outside for a breakfast picnic and the kiddos had fun with their new bubbles and chalk. The chalk seems to be used as much for face paint as it does for sidewalks.

In the afternoon, we went over to Beth's house to celebrate Audrey's birthday and do an Easter egg hunt. Teagan was pretty excited about the quantity of candy she ended up with from the egg hunt.

4.9.12

Art time. Asher is getting pretty proficient at scribbling.

Teagan has been having fun with her paint with water book she got in her Easter basket. She was also experimenting with mixing glue and water.

Egg Hunt 1

4.3.12

Sharing the iPad.

4.4.12
Testing out the new toy wagon.

4.5.12
Hanging out on the box.

4.6.12
We had an egg hunt play date with Teagan's friends today. Asher wasn't quite on board with the whole process, but Teagan tried to help him out with a few eggs.

Pool time!

3.31.12

Not even April yet and it's swimming time!

Asher jumped to Daddy just like he saw Teagan do, but was not interested in staying in the 78 degree water!

Asher would rather be the pool boy. He needs his own toddler size pool cleaning equipment.

Teagan was happy to be swimming again.

4.1.12

Asher decided his leg warmers would make a great "tool belt" to hold some silverware. You never know when you'll need a fork.

Teagan was all dressed up to go to her cousin's birthday party. She had to bring her babies, because, "they love parties!"

4.2.12

Making fruit leather.

Enjoying playing outside.

Sick kiddo

3.28.12

Does a watched pot of chocolate ever melt? We were busy getting ready to dip Easter egg cake pops for a planned Easter egg hunt play date the next day, when Teagan said she was feeling cold and sick.

A fever earns you some couch cartoon time. And unfortunately we had to reschedule the play date.

3.29.12

Asher testing out one of the cake pops!

Teagan drinking her tea so she could feel better. Luckily Teagan woke up in the morning mostly recovered. Yes, she is still wearing the same clothes the next day :)

3.30.12

We got out the water table and hose to play with this afternoon. Teagan had so much fun, but Asher seemed kind of cold every time he got splashed or sprayed.

First swim of the season

3.25.12

Beautiful Sunday to hang out with the family. We had our first outdoor meal of the season. Paul grilled lobster tails and filet mignon.

Picnic lunch at the playground.

The kids were determined to go swimming. They were actually getting in up to their waists even though the pool temp was only 72 degrees. Asher lost his balance though and actually went all the way under. He wasn't too happy about that and our little swim was over.

3.26.12
Breakfast time. Sitting on the island.

3.27.12

Painting! Teagan was inspired after seeing painting and art supplies at Hobby Lobby. As soon as we got home, she needed to paint.

Problem solver. Asher loves a challenge. Can't reach the light switch? Just move over the table.

Hanging out with Asher

Asher and I got to hang out together this morning while Paul took Teagan in to his office with him. It is so funny watching him play by himself. He just alternates between driving trucks around and then playing with baby dolls. When we were out running errands, he was pointing to himself and trying to say his own name for the first time. It was a beautiful day so we also spent some time outside. Asher enjoyed digging in the dirt, carrying rocks, and looking at bugs and acorns.

Asher came out of the playroom wearing nothing but a diaper and a bonnet and carrying a diaper bag. Teagan thought he was looking pretty cute and asked him to come give her a hug. They can be so cute together.
