Arboretum

Dallas Blooms at the Arboretum. Time for another outing with our friends!

Asher really likes to follow the "big boys" around.

We ended up spending a lot of time in the little old fashioned village with the houses. The kids really enjoyed running around in them. We also enjoyed seeing all the flowers, but it actually got kind of hot today! I can't believe it's only March.

Writing

Teagan was "writing" a shopping list. She wanted orange juice, meat on the bone, milk, and corn.

Asher took a turn scribbling on the paper saying, "E, E, E." And then he clapped for himself. E is his favorite letter. Anytime he sees a number or a letter, he points and says, "E, E, E." When we are walking around the neighborhood, he has to look at all the numbers on the curb and we read the numbers as he says, "E."

Catching up

3.19.12

"Freeze!" Asher likes to play freeze dance where you dance and then freeze when the music stops. When he freezes, he always puts both hands out in front. We were outside on a gusty day, and for some reason whenever there was a big breeze, he would put his hands out and do his "freeze."

3.20.12

Playing birthday party is a daily occurrence. Usually it is one of the doll's birthday. We put on birthday hats, make the cake, and have a party!

3.21.12

Coconut chocolate donuts!

Asher's tool belt. He was running around wearing nothing but a t-shirt and trying to hold his tools underneath his shirt. We added some underwear and tied a belt around his waist so he could actually carry his tools. I guess I should make him a proper tool belt eventually.

The kids love to balance on their bellies or sit on the balls. Teagan wasn't falling off, that is just how she was hanging out.

Are they here yet?

3.17.12

Teagan had a fun Saturday. Paul took her with him to work for a few hours. She kept busy coloring butterfly pictures with highlighters. I guess she was still feeling creative when she got home, because she spent quite a bit of time coloring. I've been impressed with her growing ability to draw actual recognizable things.

Asher was interested in browsing Paul's meat magazine. I guess he needs to learn all about meats so he can be a griller like his daddy.

3.18.12

We had a St. Patrick's themed family potluck with some of our friends today. The kids were anxiously awaiting everyone's arrival.

Can we swim?

Asher is so ready to be swimming again! This evening while Paul was working on cleaning up the pool, Asher decided to dip his feet in.

Teagan doesn't like band-aids, so after scraping up her knee and foot, she was all bandaged up with her cut off sock bandages. And since it was clean, she was of course wearing her favorite dress, which she calls her "fancy dress."

Tools

3.14.12

Asher really loves Daddy's tools. Whenever he gets a chance, he gets Paul's drill and goes to work. I guess the playroom wall needed some repairs.

Bubbles! We've been spending a lot of time outside. Since we ran out of sidewalk chalk, bubbles are the new favorite. Asher can even say "bubbles" now.

3.15.12

I found Teagan dressing up Asher. She told me, "I'm dressing up my son."

Teagan "reading" and Asher talk

3.12.12

Is it warm enough to swim yet?

Time for a tricycle wash!

3.13.12
Hanging out reading books.

Teagan "reading" her favorite poems and Asher talk.

Candy Land

3.10.12

Teagan really enjoys playing Candy Land. Not sure how it works out this way, but she almost always wins!

The iPad and the iPhone. Quite the convenient little kiddo entertainers. It's crazy that a 1 year old and 3 year old can work them so well.

3.11.12

Teagan's play-doh breakfast. Pancakes and waffles.

If tools are involved, Asher is always there to help!

Ear buds

3.8.12

Oh, the iPad. Whenever Asher sees Teagan with it, he makes sure to stay close by so he can have the next turn.

3.9.12

Asher found my ear buds and phone this morning. I turned on some music for him and he was walking around holding them in his ears and dancing. Eventually I had to take the ear buds away when he was trying to dip them in his smoothie.

I told Teagan she could help frost our mini carrot cakes. She always jumps at the chance to use an offset spatula! Her favorite kitchen tool.

Hanging out

3.6.12

Teagan and Asher both love to water plants with a spray bottle.

A watering can works well too! We have a little stone bunny rabbit by the bushes that always needs watering as well.

Hanging out on the tricycle eating a popsicle.

3.7.12

"Reading" a Fancy Nancy book. One of her favorite book series right now.

This kid is on a serious popsicle kick! He had a major melt-down this morning when we made smoothie to fill the popsicle molds and then put it in the freezer. He absolutely could not understand why the popsicles were not ready right NOW!
